Moon Milk

The best thing I have found to knock me out and relieve my anxiety is a big cup of moon milk. Recently after learning about the amazing benefits of Ashwaganda I ordered a bag from Amazon Prime and began learning how to get my anxiety down to a manageable level without pharmaceuticals. I have spend a large portion of my 32 years on prescription medicines for depression and anxiety. I was told by doctors I had a chemical imbalance caused by years of trauma as a child and that medication was the best option for me. Fast forward to my son turning a year a half and I had learned a lot about diet and exercise playing a bigger role in chemical issues then I was told add to that therapy and meditation exercises for good measure.

One of the many plants I discovered along the way is Ashwaganda.

Now the mainstream medical mafia will say there is no conclusive evidence that ashwaganda has any effect on any ailment. But as someone who struggles with PTSD and anxiety I can attest it has helped me tremendously.

Also known as Indian Ginseng, Poison Gooseberry, or Winter Cherry is a plant of the night shade family and is an adaptogenic.

This means it helps your brain deal with stress better!

What you will need:

  • 2 cups of unsweetened plant milk
  • 1 tbs ashwaganda
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric
  • 1/8 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 cup agave

Bring all the ingredients to a boil then serve. Color will depend on how much turmeric you use. Leave it out if it’s too strong for you.

Thanks for reading. Next time you get a bout of insomnia give this drink a try and leave a comment if it works for you.
